I enjoy it. I like how he derives the physics of an object or scenario and applies it. Makes it interesting.

>> No.9329789

a lot of his shit is just star trek science, but meh. it's entertaining

>> No.9329809

A lot of books he bases his videos pn are sci-fi, i cannot speak on validity if those books for i don't know most of them buy as far as science goes he isnt trying to be scientifically correct but rather explores possibility of those things through his understanding of the universe and it isnt that bad. I like it .

Considering star trek science is literally just fantasy magic I think you are being a little harsh.

It's ok Isaac. I still like your vids. Just because a lot of them are pretty far-fetched it doesn't mean they're not entertaining.

Fantasy magic tech. When he gets closer to real world his "predictions" turn ridiculously bad like metallic hydrogen powered rockets.

Isn't real space warfare going to be nothing but ass loads of decoys, BB railguns, one-time-use disposable nuclear lasers, ass loads of super high precision optics and really good image recognition AI with fields of photovoltaic radiators? You can't hide in space. You can only shoot first and hope whatever you are shooting gets to the enemy before they change course or shoot you.

Oh and of course, good old spy sabotage and psyops, which is more than likely the main way to do pretty much everything while your backup is the toys.

I'd just sneak in matter-consuming nanobots, who replicate quietly until they suffuse your enemy and then standby for activation if they don't surrender.

You only need a few dust particles worth to get the process started...

If that existed, there'd be a countermeasure and detection system.

He adds too much fantasy to his work. It's basically pic related for the youtube era

Its based on real science so thats awesome.

For IA this would be stuwped because they use methane. He just takes raw numbers with no deeper understanding of engineering problems connected with making things work and by napkin math claims that using metallic hydrogen would fix every problem ignoring the problems that using such exotic propellant will cause in the first place.

Engineers and both Blue and SpaceX work on cheap LNG engines and structures to hold these because there is more to launch vehicle design that isp of the engine

he says metallic hydrogen would do all these great things because the math says it would be an outstandingly effective fuel source
all the issues that would crop up from using it as a fuel source are shit we don't even know yet
first time we confirmed the shit existed was a year ago, and the containment for it shattered before it could be researched

He's also talks about dyson swarms, if you expect him to get into the complications of networking requirements of robotic star constellations, I think you would hate it.

Enjoy it, its well beyond Kaku and hawking

I don't think anyone would want to go into that flavour of suffering

a dyson swarm is probably what we'll end up building though, habitats are superior to planets in terms of living space for material, and where else to put them than around the sun for free solar energy

at the end of it all, the guy calls himself a futurist, not a engineer or researcher
he likes taking ideas and old sci-fi shit and talking about them at a basic level for half an hour
he probably doesn't plan to go heavily in depth on shit, leaving that to the viewers if they so decide to
