I'm moderately capable of becoming decently intelligent, but I don't know how to go about doing so. I'm asking for guidance. What would you recommend?

1)Stop listening to rap or rock or pop, only listen to classical music, I recommend bach, beethoven and chopin
2)Instead of watching movies, listen to podcasts, I recommand HelloInternet and the Joe Rogan Podcast
3)Solve mathematical problems to keep the logical part of your brain trained
4)Avoid sugar
5)Read books/listen to audiobooks

>define your goal
>put in every single minute you can spend in mindful deliberate practice with the best instruction possible
>optimize learning quality, include proven concepts for short and long term retention like spaced repetition, the testing effect, building associations and using mnemonics to get the best value for your invested time
>embrace the feeling of the fool since you will feel dumb forever no matter how much you learn on the path of mastery
>self-experiment to build a personal language of controlling yourself
>experiment with the fundamentals of your desired skill
>kill all distractions, strengthen your focus trough the pomodoro technique and meditation
>focus on radical change if you want the biggest gains possible
>optimize your health trough working out, diet and proper sleep
>kill every shallow social relationship you have
>stay out of your comfort zone
Of course it's completely unrealistic to truly achieve the goals listed on here. The idea is to get as close as possible though.

Unless you have a great knowledge of music theory so that it engages your brain, there is literally no reason to listen to classical over rap. Bach Beethoven and Chopin are normietier as fuck by the way, poser.

Sounds good, but most people know all of this. The real question is "How do you implement all of this in your life?" no one has the answer to that, because each individual must answer it in a unique way, by themselves.

Nice bait but yeah, don't take these suggestions too seriously OP.

1st: is meaningless and actually the "bad" genres will probably do more good, as they are lyrical and more varied. But ultimately music is irrelevant in this endeavor.

2nd: has merit but means little, podcasts are dogshit and only slightly above movies, the average retard on the street knows more about the topics at hand than podcast hosts do, too. A documentary or educational video is far above podcasts but still shit. Learn through the theory in textbooks and the focused practice of that theory. Anything else is watered-down, time-wasting garbage.

3rd: generally good suggestion but not so if done aimlessly, do "mathematical problems" relevant to your education, what you want to practice to improve. Otherwise it will give you nothing. "brain training" is a lie, it doesn't provide general ability, only those specific tasks. Solving lots of mathematical problems won't do anything, solving a limited amount of those you are not well-acquainted with, will - keep pushing out the borders of your ability lest you stagnate to a stop and remain in a trap of delusion.

4th: doesn't say much, you shouldn't under-consume or over-consume anything. Align your diet to your specific body and lifestyle, your needs.

5th: audiobooks are for lazy faggots, you simply reduce your retention, often they're used to pretend to read too, like just putting them on the background. Just read books, with your full attention or forget about it as you'll just be wasting your time without that 100%.

Having the information and truly understanding it are two pair of shoes. If people know that there is only the honest way, why do they search day and night for the shortcut, for some key piece of information that will change everything? All of the things named are suffering, they are the hard way. There are not many people who are able to go that way.

Stop 4chan, video games and all your other time wasting hobbies immediately. Just work on your goals for at least an entire week. To avoid burnout slowly introduce fun hobbies yet again with time restrictions. Increase slowly till you work half on your productive things and half on entertainment. At some point when you feel you need to work more again drop all hobbies and slowly introduce them after a week. Repeat and customize cycle to whatever has the best ratio for you.

To become smart:

1) listen to grindcore as loud as possible through samsung earbud headphones all day long I recommend Cripple Bastards, Unholy Grave and Agathocles
2) Watch degenerate pornography and violent movies, I recommend Incest Port and the a fantastic website called liveleak.com
3) Drink coca cola and monster energy drinks instead of xeno-estrogen laden tap water whenever you get dizzy
5)avoid reading anything it sucks up precious brainpower, masturbate furiously and play vidya until you need to actually do something smart

Questioning is the foundation of human consciousness. Intelligence is simply being good at asking questions, including what are the most suitable to be asked in a specific context. True geniuses don't search for answers, they search for questions, and mine answers for them.

Eat vegetable, fruits, nuts, meat, and drink water. A bit of wine is not bad, or beer. Don´t use drugs. Drink the upcranking Schockopresso (the name explains the recipe), cause it´s good for the memory. Listen to hard rock and true metal. Read and write. That´s my recipe for beeing a genius. Take this every day for 10 years and you´ll become very good. For risk or sideeffects ask the advisor.

Actually......
Classical has a much easier display of musical theory to get a hold of, so it is really good for a beginner to listen to. Baroque is also good for tonality and scales, and romantic is great for dynamics and rhythm (and understanding chords I, IV, and V - Romantic was blues for French Aristocrats). The reason I say this is because it is super easy to explain why Ode To Joy sounds good in comparison to a soulful blues song. It's really complex to explain but tl;dr, if you want to learn music theory, historical listening progression is the best.
t. ANZCA, AMEB HDs, and studied music theory in high school finals
