So are bacteria 2d beings who perceived the third dimension, formed a collaborated effort to ascend into the 3rd dimension and now we somehow need to transcend into the 4th dimension. Is this what the singularity will be?

So how good is that game? It looks like a generic rocket/spaceship building simulator. Are there actual objectives? Is there a lot of /sci/ there? I see a lot of people praising it, but I fail to understand the appeal.

I dont have the time to play it. I am trying to involve myself with actually reality more as computers dont give off real sensations... yet. What I can tell you is it takes weight, force, and balance into consideration so you must carefully put together pieces of the rocket to deliver payloads.

That's a neat-looking ship, OP.

>So how good is that game?
It's gr8

>It looks like a generic rocket/spaceship building simulator.
That is pretty much what it is, yes.

>Are there actual objectives?
Some, but they are secondary to the open sandbox fucking-around appeal. The real objectives are the ones you feel like, like "complete a trip to that planet and live to tell the tale".

>Is there a lot of /sci/ there?
The orbital mechanics, and mechanics in general, are pretty accurate. Not perfect, but accurate enough that most of the fundamental engineering challenges of spaceflight (rocket equation, thrust to weight ratio, careful trajectory planning, etc) are accurately represented and form the primary challenge of the game.

>I see a lot of people praising it, but I fail to understand the appeal.
It's autism bait, and scientifically respectable. It's pretty neat if you like that sort of thing

Docking is easy and fun. Seriously, once I figured it out I spent so many hours just stringing together a ton of spaceships until the game crashed.

I failed so many times, I have like 16 spacecraft in the same orbit. I think I gained some intuition now

>tfw you git too gud at KSP and need to install 9000 mods to make it somewhat challenging again
>then some patch is released that adds practically no content but breaks all your mods
>then months later you finally get all your mods updated only to have another patch release 2 days after and break them all again

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hohmann_transfer_orbit
I can't believe I needed to link this, anyone with two brain cells to rub together could of figured it out.

You don't belong on /sci/ bud best go back to /r/reddit.

This game doesn't support spiral orbits so it's not as fun as it could be.

Man ksp is such a broken memory for me of a game that was great and shit at once, and then the devs just started grasping for $$$$$ and making decisions to drive everything else into the ground
