In what field of study is the Dunning-Kruger effect most pronounced and why is it economics?
>never taken econ101 or only taken econ101
>smugly tell people you disagree with they need to take econ101
Undergrad economics barely have any math and even people that seriously study economics think of it as just a way to occupy students before they go to grad school, yet know-it-all brainlets act like its platitudes provide profound understanding of the world. I can't think of any other field of study with so much unwarranted arrogance from its armchair experts.

You clearly aren't trying hard enough.

Nearly all subjects require only a basic understanding of certain fundamental principles from which we can reason on a lot of general consequences that are largely sufficient for people not actively in the field. The problem with economics is that since there was no equivalent of the Nuremberg trials for the 100+ million people killed by communism, so many leftists play Voltaire to the economics-as-Leibniz.

Go to medical school and come back after having been forced to memorize 200+ bones and their accidents, 600+ muscles, shit tons more ligaments and let's not forget the names and hierarchy of nerves and blood vessels, and that's before you get to memorize neuroanatomical structures that you can barely even see with the naked eye. I seriously doubt you will have any patience or willingness left to understand anything after that brutal exercise in stamp collecting
