I think that a rail system for cars or capsules is a better solution than relying on sensors to drive the cars, and it's less likely to fail.

I'm sorry but I look at every management position as being a worthless job. Every CEO and all shareholders just sit there with cash and then tell other people what to do. They aren't inventing or revolutionizing things for other people. They are just paid large sums to be meticulous and fire the people who bog down the company.

I am more concerned about the people who are getting wealthy from skimming off the top and ruining other peoples lives than I am the needy and poor who don't even have the resources or knowledge to pull themselves out of their plight.

You want blacks gone but you're ready to welcome Japanese people as "honorary master race". Most people in the modern day think that the ancient Indian caste system is a horrific nightmare but somehow even at the cusp of this marvel of a technological advancement that could finally free people from poverty all you can think about is re-instituting an old divisive taboo. You're looking forward to having a fix for the large scale of production required to provide food, clothes and shelter to an amazing amount of human beings but then you want to turn around and start splitting people apart based on race and supposed usefulness?

What's the result of this automation? The industry GROWS. They dont lay people off, they dont fire lots of people because of automation, they expand to make more money. The people that do get laid off because of automation get laid off because of the companies poor management. If you cant retrain somebody either you have too many personal, or the employee is an idiot.

The only reason to let people go because of automation is if it has been according to plan since the hiring of the employee, ex. a large scale switch to automation. And even then it is still prudent to have multi-role employee's who can drive a forklift, perform maintenance, package, or what have you. One employee or: a robot forklift, a robot QA, a robot manager...etc

And then you also have the glaring single point of failure with machines breaking. Ex. a forklift malfunctions, the human operator can still perform actions that benefit the company, even if there are no more forklifts.


Actual automation in the industry is not complete. There is always some human component to back it up, whether it's maintenance techs, or people directly interacting with some part of the machines line. It's just sensible because failure happens, and then you lose money. You lose less money if there's some dude who fix it soon or perform the function of the machine himself.
