Math is our look at a perfect, eternal universe described by Plato.
Math is the reflection of that universe onto our own, the axioms by which that perfection can occur.
Physics is the error in our universe's copy of that perfection, and as such physics is "why we live in dogshit chaos"
Math might be invented in the sense that it doesn't exist in our universe, but it is discovered in the sense that we can see math through our universe's poor attempts to model the math in another perfect universe (in which it could be discovered literally, not just philosophically.)

Math is simply an abstraction to explain certain properties and patterns. That's all.

In a way it was discovered, as primitive screwfucks in middle of nowhere ancient days noticed these patterns and then developed an abstraction for them to use for their benefit, such as predicting where the yearly floods of the nile would occur and move their houses away from it.

No, it doesn't. And neither does math. Not here, but we can consider it and try to work it out.
If math existed, we could observe and study it without pure deductive reasoning. That's why math is so much more difficult, and requires such smarter people, than physics.
