Wildberger just decoded an old babylonian mathematical tablet. Thoughts?

So what's new from the Wikipedia article?

>Not mention of Wild in the article
So you are just talking out of your ass?

A discovery of ancient math is boring unless Wildberger uses it to argue that real numbers don't exist.

There's an unironic comment on the video that says it's hot news and cites an IFLS article.

>because it only includes Pythagorean triangles with side lengths that are whole numbers.
so, this superior babylonian trigonometry looks nice and accurate just because the table gives values only for nice triangles, should they choose any other triangle the expressions would get as nasty as in regular trig
also, trig functions are defined independently of any basis, so what do they say sexagesimal base changes anything while it pretty much doesn't?

I was reading the article about the tablets and then saw his name kek

It died down for a while but then Wildberger evolved. The madman finally started his series on rational analysis, which means that in about a year or two all of analysis will be weirdly formalized inside the rationals, which means no one will be able to mock him anymore. Each part of the series that he had produced has gotten a discussion here.

And some days ago the madman started a mini-series on babylonian math because of the tablet, so again he is doing new shit. I think he even got the other guy to appear in the videos. So basically Wildberger became Wilderberger this year.

Clearly this is a political video.
>The history guy is grateful to have a mathematician say his finding is important.
>Wildberger finds a new platform for his ideas
