In the interest of science...

Say we constructed in space a very large chamber made of the most heat resistant building materials that is surrounded by a very dense and thick metal, strong enough to resist the force of a 50MT nuclear weapon, IE.The Tsar Bomba.

Contruct a very long barrel attached to the chamber that seats a very hard, dense, and heat resistant projectile that is then shot out by the force of the nuke going off. Say like a gun except the powder charge is actually the nuke.

How fast would the projectile go? If it hit a target how much energy [provided it stayed solid and did not disintegrate] would it unleash on say, a planet? The projectile being the size of say, a 155mm standard howitzer shell.

Again, just something i'm curious about.

Also, what material would the projectile have to be for it to resist the force alone after being fired?

If 100% efficient

50MT = 200,000,000,000,000,000 Joules

155mm shell weighs about 50Kg

so sqrt(8000,000,000,000,000) = 90,000,000 m/s

so we're getting relativistic

idk, who cares

I care, I want to know scientifically how to destroy an ayylmao's planet dammit! Tired of getting probed and my cows are turning transgender, fucking lmao's.
