Ever watched it? You'd find out that despite what Reddit tells you, it's not just saying random "nerd words" for 22 minutes. My biggest complaint is that they dropped a lot of the science theme for relationship drama. I'm going to let you in on a secret: unless you're talking about getting into a grad program or certain research fields, your specific major doesn't matter all that terribly much. There are a ton of EEs doing the work of CS majors, CS majors doing the work of EEs, etc. What matters more, if you care about making money, is having classes, internships, and experience in a related field to where you're trying to make money.

I will say though that quite often engineering degrees are more impressive to laymen, especially over something like CS which most laymen have no fucking clue what they do (they don't have a clue about EEs either beyond engineering electricity), and quite often you'll be hired by people who have no fucking clue what you actually do. Hell, even if you get to work for a boss with appropriate credentials, if you're working in any large company, you'll still be hired based off of HR derived "standards".

Anyway, don't stress over labels. That shit only matters for your first job. Build skills, however and whenever you can. The degree just opens some doors.

EE majors are more difficult, which means you'll have a better understanding of systems.

CS majors know the software, and EE majors generally work with software-hardware integration which means you need to have an understanding for both hardware and software. It might be different for you, but this is my experience.

EE majors can also focus on power distribution, which is completely different and very fascinating.
