Studying how? did you do lots of practice problems? Did you check your work on all of these? Did you try to understand the concepts rather than memorize? And a month is nothing. Go pick up a copy of Basic Mathematics by Lang and start learning. I also suggest the Art of Problem Solving for additional supplement
