Here's a graph i made in desmos that plots the shadow position of a 1-meter stick in the ground where I live. It specifically takes into account the fact that as the earth rotates, your physical position in space changes. It predicts a very slight "wobble" in the position of the sun (or moon) over the course of a day.

I stayed up all night on the night of a full moon to plot the position of a moon-dial i made (stick in the mud type device) and the wobble was there - just as i predicted.
