If many worlds is correct does that mean that every time I die in one universe my consciousness will just go to another universe where I didn't die and I will be immortal?

What if I already killed myself after reading that in a universe but now I'm responding in the universes where I didn't kill myself?

no, the "soul" doesn't exist; if a being exactly like you right now exists 10 million years in the future it wont be you

Why not? If it's identical then it should. Otherwise you might as well say that I never exist

although what you just said doesn't make any sense, you're correct in that "you" never existed

if it's identical, why should it? because you want it to? nothing is ever going to exist that is exactly like you, and stays exactly like you, that's immensely improbable -- and for the very brief blink of time there might be something exactly like you, hell there might be something right now somewhere in the universe like that, you are grasping at straws thinking your "soul" will just transfer to that body

that's not how it works

no, because its not like there was a universe that was spontaneously created when, for example, you detect the polarity of a photon with 50% of one outcome and 50% of another. That would violate quiet allot of things besides the conservation of matter. There were always two universes to begin with in this scenario that were exactly the same in every shape and form, except when you measure the polarity of the photon when they happen to diverge. You didn't change universes. No extra universe was created. If you were to attach a bomb to this device that measures polarity, there would be two of you to begin with in two universes, after you use the device there will still be two universes but only one of you.

Plus if what you say is true, you could use the device to deliver an anaesthetic if a certain polarity was measured into you that would pause your conscience, it should be similar enough to death that you would jump to the universe that only measures the polarity of a photon that doesn't cause you to loose conscience

What happens to the other guy? He had a life.
Are you taking his life? Have him suffered for nothing, so you can life?
You'd still have to die with uncertainty: FEAR of the unknown. Most people die painfully, especially are lot of people getting killed off by texting drivers, far more than drunks ever killed people. However, most of them don't pay attention so it's sort of their karma, as death will be mine for my ignorance unless I figure out immortality first, or I'm associated with someone more thoughtful than I am who has figured it out.

>consciousness
No, subjective experience doesnt magically travel between universes, though if many worlds is correct there would be many clones of you across many univerises.
