he attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, studying chemical engineering, until he got into an argument with a professor about what one times one equals. "How can it equal one?" he said. "If one times one equals one that means that two is of no value because one times itself has no effect. One times one equals two because the square root of four is two, so what's the square root of two? Should be one, but we're told it's two, and that cannot be."

It seems odd, but he has a point.

It seems that Terry is confusing the square root with the binary logarithm

>in america you can get into chemical engineering not only if you don't know your multiplication table, but even if you can't multiply by 1 as long as you're a nigger
lmao

He should study Peano axioms.
Tao should be a good reference.

Is he a /wild/fag?

He's right. If a number doesn't have an integer square root it is not a number.

basic rule in multiplication that i learned in 2nd grade

Sounds way more logical te me

I don't really even get the point that OP is trying to make.

Did he think numbers needed to be doubled instead of squared.

What is the point being made?

>what's the square root of two? ...we're told it's two

That's what always got me about Terryology. He thinks the standard answer to sqr 2 is 1. He doesn't just have an insane math theory, he never payed attention to real math or played with a calculator.
