I'm a worried humanity won't be able to survive if we technologically revert back 500 or so. I mean health wise we're living longer than our ancestors, but only because of modern medicine. It's estimated this newest generation will have a shorter lifespan than their father's due to all the pollution, even with today's advanced medicine. If we technologically revert back even a little and loose some of our life extending technology, but still have the pollution, peoples short lifespans would effect education. Education would effect our technological advancement, which would mean shorter lifespans again. It would create a feedback loop where there's no telling when it'd stop. That people need hours to understand concepts that are obvious to you, and that there are things that others will never, in their entire lives, be able to understand as well as you do.

That doesn't mean you should feel smug or not interact with the rest of the world, but just accept that high IQ people have the upper-hand in tons of situations and that intelligence does mean something.
