Big stinks in science rarely hit the headlines in the dailies. There are other places this is discussed. Check for instance Retraction Watch. Things will get stinky and Feynman's Cargo Cult Science classic will be read out loud.

Ah yeah, interestingly enough I'm working on some of the scans that have been affected: the issue is just that a lot of the findings no longer have the statistical significance they wanted, but a lot more studies were unaffected because they didn't use the software with the bugs, or didn't use the specific part of the software that had the bug.
