We really need to stop looking into AI, Stephen Hawking sums up why this would be an insane type of progression.

People had been discussing the dangers of it long before popsci mentioned it. Learn what AI actually is and it's applications. It's not just some fucking robots or free-ranging, human-like consciousness.

Also, this guy isn't going to get anywhere with this. He's far behind other developments, he might do some meme stuff but will eventually drop it all together.

Meh. That maze navigation isn't that impressive. There have been deep learning powered robots that learn how to grasp things.

They are stupid simple too. They just learn one big input output function mapping pixels to motor torques. it works, but it is pretty dumb because it has zero memory whatsoever

>Rat level AI
>I'm going to create something with rat level intelligence

What the fuck does this mean? How do know a robot and a rat are equally as intelligent? Is it just a case of seeing if the robot can do everything a rat can do? But if that's the case then what's the difference between a robot with intelligence and a robot with a sufficiently comprehensive rules so that it can imitate an intelligent organism?

This sounds more like a marketing piece than actual science.

>what's the difference
well, maybe there's no difference until you start aiming for the levels of intelligence that involve consciousness
