Not anatomy but the biggest flaw in my opinion is the way we feel pain.

I understand that it has to feel immediate to lead to us trying to deal with it ASAP but often it just stands in the way of actually dealing with it because the sensation is so distracting.

Also it's not very precise. You may feel pain even though there is nothing wrong. If you feel pain you can't always pinpoint it. Sometimes even doctors can't find the cause.

So ideally it should be like in certain video games where we know exactly where the damage lies but without being distracted by it.

Do you think something like this may be possible in the far future? Nanomachines? Lol.

>> No.8206702

But it could be handeled like computer errors.

I mean if you have tooth ache you can't deal with it right away. You plan to go to the doctor the next day. But until then you want to be able to do whatever you normally do without being distracted by that annoying sensation.

Or when after surgery you feel pain even though you are in the healing process.

And of course there are chronic painful conditions like cluster headaches.

Well no, but I don't think that's even in any way a reasonable idea.

>It doesnt improve the bone density of the vertabrae either.
Actually, it does. Bone, like most live matter can change its structure based on use, i.e. if you punch a wall every day, the bone structure in your hands and wrist will align to the pressure. It's a well known observation that in accidents well trained athletes usually have a higher survival rate, as bones and muscles are supporting the body in a much better way.

So really what you are asking is "Everybody should have an athlete's body by default so everybody can have the advantages of that AND be lazy".

>> No.8207063

>>8207040
But since, as you've said, athletes don't have a 100% survival rate, if everyone had an athlete's body by default then if this thread was created in that alternate universe, that comment may not have been any less likely to be posted.

Because athletes in that reality would simply be superior to athletes in this one, and they would have had to expend more energy than ours to achieve it.

So basically that comment is actually suggesting there is a bare minimum beyond the current average.

What we don't know is what that anon is trying to base this on. To what degree they would hope to see a change.

Other suggestions in this thread are more clear, such as two mouths instead of one.

I think he's referring more to how persistent pain, from something like a twisted ankle or blister, is so overwhelmingly painful that it can prevent us from reacting in the best way. It's a system that evolved to protect species with lower cognitive abilities and problem solving skills from exacerbating injuries. If you fall off a ledge and twist your ankle you may not be able to walk because of the pain. Your muscles, ligaments, and bones are fine but the pain stops you. You could die of thirst where you lie but if you could walk the few kilometer back to your hut you'd be fine and could rest for a few days.

Or how non life threatening injuries can be so painful that you can't properly treat them and you get infect. Shit like that.

4) make our spine more stable and less prone to defects and injuries

5) our knees are shit and so are our necks. Got any ideas how to fix them!

6) make our balls retractable inside our bodies so we're not exposed 24/7. Make it so that males are not easily controlled by sex and hormones.

7) make females less whorish and insane and make vaginas tighter.

8) make our skulls thicker and make it so that our face isn't so exposed when it comes to sensitive nerves.

9) get rid of balding.

10) get rid of counter intuitive conditions like heel spurs.

Nature doesn't prefer optimal solutions anyway because nature as a personified metaphorical entity is retarded and iterative.
If making something better involves making it drastically worse first then nature probably isn't going to be bothered.

The blindspot for instance.
Easy to solve if you're not an undirected process with no intelligence.
Your visual nerves penetrate your retina and obstruct your vision. The perfect counterexample to this is the invertebrate eye that is more or less the same except without the retina penetration.

The first flaw I can think of is the ridiculous amount of interconnectivity and interdependence that exists within a human. The first fix you'd really want is simply to increase modularity and decrease interdependence in the body thus reducing cascade failures/problems when modifying organ systems. If we wanted to say, make eight feet the standard human height then not only will you have to modify the muscles and bones to be proportional, but you also have to significantly strengthen the cardiovascular system, because you have to increase the size and power of the cardiovascular system you'll need to modify the pulmonary system to oxygenate all of that blood, ect ect. That's the rub with evolution, it doesn't necessarily have to be great, just good enough to not die before reproducing.

It contributes to oxygen level in the dermis and epidermis but that's about it, not enough to help organs.

Perhaps there's a way to infuse the skin with expandable cells that would greatly increade the surface area without losing the toughness I have in mind but then again perhaps not.
Still, the photosynthetis should suffice to produce additional oxygen and route it to the organs while taking co2 from the blood

If EVERYONE were like this, the world could not suddenly sustain humanity's rapid advancements on a global scale...I think.

You know the economic theory that proposes "the more money you gots, the mores you be spendin'"?

I have a similar idea that states that the more capable and well-functioning a human is, the more resources he consumes. Whether that be mates for breeding (Chads like to fuck), good food (Chad's with your GIRL while eating PIZZA), money (Chads do badass things, like become doctors and lawyers), and lastly, they're constantly looking to improve their standard of living (YOU might enjoy sitting at home eating shit all day, but CHAD likes to hit the gym and goes scuba diving on the weekends).

If the entire world were suddenly to become Chads, everyone would be doing Chad things. (ie. if everyone were to suddenly gain lots of money, everyone would be splurging like mad).

Chads with no boundaries means more internal and external conflict, which means war, which means an entire planet of literal superhumans vying for total dominance, which means Chad's psychology is geared for competitive dominance, which means one of them will press the button, which means no more Chads...And no more you, for that matter.

Don't make the whole world Chad's. A whole world of Chad's is not really Chad's world. It's no ones.

What we want to do really is move to a body where all the important parts can be manufactured, easily accessed when damaged, and replaced when needed without causing impaired functioning in the future. You're not entirely wrong. My proposals would dramatically increase daily energy intake requirments.
But...
There is actually no need for 7.5 billion people on the planet.
With advancment of automation there'll soon be much less need for human being in the work force.
Just because something is sustainable doesn't make it efficient.
The hardiness of my proposed metahuman means we'd be practically immune to anything that isn't gloalbally devastating.
The radiation resistence means even nuclear fallout isn't a problem.
Changing diet to plants and insects, along with synthetic meat means food supply is assured.

And when everyone is special, no-one is.
Everyone being Chad merely makes Chad -of-today the new normal and there will rise an even better version of metahuman-chad.

Society will go through turmoil, kill off a large portion of its mostly redundant population and stabalise again at a higher tier.

We already can grow basically any organ. Modern medicine, at its current best version, is pretty good at replacing anything without further harm so long as the replacement is compatable.
Making the organs more accessable makes them more vulnerable (unless you could just move your own bones but that also makes you less tough for impact trauma).

I think there will definitely be a phase of organ replacement, probably a very long one, but the end goal is to create a self-repairing biological system.
Just need some way to deal with inevitable cancer that comes from complete regenerative abilities but heck, other animals manage it and some possess biological immortality.
Eventually it'll be coded into our genome too.

Kind of but not really. Having a gaping open hole in your chest would make you more vulnerable but something simple like not surrounding everything with fragile shitty arteries and nerves would go a long way to making complications of access less dangerous.

Human nature. If an organism can adapt (and your organism WILL adapt) to its environment, it WILL exploit it to its greatest potential. It WILL breed like wildfire, and it WILL outbreed others.

Also, you forgot just one thing. When Chads want another Chad dead, they make sure they do it all on the first try. That's not a scientific observation; it's a rule of nature.

...You play God, anon. And one is already more than enough for my world.

>> No.8211162

I see what you're getting at.
A system whre each organ is individually encased in some protective shell with only a few connections that facilitate function and the rest is attached by muscle fibers.

Then you can open someone up, cut through the muscles, disconnect the organ, reconnect the new one, spray the whole area with muscular stem cells, sow em back up and let the patient lie comatose for a few days until all the fibers heal.
Some form of statis enabling like the waterbear and superslow metablosim for the rest of the body during regeneration time would be pretty good.
Something has to be done about internal scar tissue ro ensure that replacement parts aren't healed sub-optimalally for the sake of speed.
Fast healing is great for survival with not medical aid around but if the system can tell that it is in a safe environment then it should sacrifice speed for quality. Perhaps a chemical switch of some kind triggered by stress.

>> No.8211174

It's *supposed* to outbreed the competition.
If an organism is superior it should be dominante and if one is inferior is should die out.
That how we advance and progress instead of stagnate and regress.

Chad will do nothing. Even as we are now we're too wide-spread and intelligent to do anything that would end all life on Earth.

Do you even have a concept of what it would take to destroy all of life on Earth?
We don't possess those capabilities now and you can forget nuclear weapons, they'll never again hold such sway over humanity's fate as they did before.

The only envisionable scenarios caused by us that would lead to extinction are crashing a huge asteroid into the planet (which we can spot real fucking quick and stop equally quickly with enough explosives, worst case a few large chunks of the planet get roasted and a few more flood. No big deal) or a biological weapon, some kind of fast spreading virus engineered to kill but even that is incredibly unlikely to go unspotted before it can cause irreperable harm.

Technically we don't need hair, hence why we don't have a fur coat, but our hair does operate as thermoregulation. When you feel your hackles rising, that's your hair trapping and keeping heat between your skin and hair. Head hair, though, seems to be really just a matter of aesthetics. Potentially a means of preventing sunburn and cooling the skull with sweat, but the people who go bald early tend to be from regions where it does, on occasion, become hot (Africa, Mediterranean, Iberia, equatorial) whereas the cunts who need the insulation like the Northerners, don't experience lots of balding. It's weird.

>> No.8215098

>>8209442
It isn't, really, aside from potential balance. Bipedalism and upright posture is great for us because we can reach shit and make much smaller targets for predators to hit when we look like thin-ass ostriches as opposed to hulking apes.

Dolphins alternate hemispheric activation to be somewhat conscious while they sleep. This would be a great way for humans to keep a better watch over ourselves while we sleep, but sleep would then take twice as long because one half isn't getting any benefit at all while the other side repairs.

I'm with you on this one, but there is a certain benefit to it being so insistent. When I was smoking too much weed, I had no appetite, and I would sit there, starving, with no inclination to eat. It was painful, but it was something I could ignore. If regular pain was handled in the same vein, I think people would oftentimes simply ignore it and keep doing what they were doing until they further injured themselves.

There are benefits to unbearable pain, ludicrous as it may seem.

Change our homeostasis so we have a higher base level of dopamin in our brain. I want to feel like im on adderall during my whole awake time.

>> No.8216547

>>8216536
anon, if your average level of dopamine rises you wont feel constantly happy

you will feel happy at first and then normal as your brain adapts to the state. If you were born with an increased dopamine base level your brain would simply need more dopamine than an average person to feel the same since your normal level is higher

what's better is to make the release of dopamine easier and make the level decrease faster so your average stays the same

>> No.8216574

>>8216547
Isn't the case that prolonged dopamine exposure causes the amount of receptors are reduced? The DNA causes the amount of dopamin and receptors reverse correlate to each other, Prolonged exposure, like adderall abuse, causes the amount of receptors to be reduced. The feeling of adaptation is simply an adaptation of receptors or amount of dopamin produced.

Isn't this correct?

Enhance our metabolism to sustain the body's required levels of water.

However, since I don't have a proposal for a modification of the process of cellular respiration, i guess this change to our physiology would require us to eat lots more to increase the reaction rate, have smaller bodies to ensure our temperature does not get too high, and possibly other factors that I'm not touching upon at the moment. In other words, my change requires humans to become more similar to small mammals.
