Can somebody explain to me the blackhole "firewall" bullshit? I don't really believe there is a burning wall of fire that incinerates anything that passes trough. This isnt anime

you have lots of energy falling into the black hole, getting ripped apart, creating a mixture of high energy particles and death that incinerates anything trying to get into the black hole.

The concept stems from this.

Hawking's radiation at distance from blackhole is x frequency/energy.

Gravity of black hole should redshift and thus lower energy of radiation it emits greatly.

That means the x frequency we observe has already been redshifted greatly.

Thus the source of the radiation must be much more energetic than the radiation is.

Closer you get to blackhole, radiation becomes asymptotically more energetic until you reach the event horizon, which would logically be extremely energetic: the "firewall"

Hawking's radiation in general seems to be plagued with laymen explanations like virtual particles and shit though so take it with a grain of salt. We'll have to wait for another Lou Gehrig's diseased cyborg for a new explanation though. Will it be you anon?

It relates to sound. When object A hits object B, object B absorbs E at a rate of n/sec. A dent is made unless the velocity of A is higher than the speed of sound in B - then, a hole is made. The more A's velocity exceeds B's speed of sound, the cleaner the hole will be.

The particles composing a blackhole are so tightly packed that it's speed of sound is enormous. It takes enormous energy to push through this material - which is provided by acceleration due to the blackhole's gravity.

But you may have also heard of spaghettification. So as you move toward the blackhole, you turn into a thin cord that flows like water into the blackhole. In doing so, your body is reduced to electrons and quarks which enter into quantum states very similar to everything else in the blackhole.

A wavefunction encodes the movement and states of a particle through time. Your wavefunction merges with the blackhole, and becomes irrecoverable - the information is lost.

However, there are ways we can abuse this. Our body merges with the blackhole because;

1 - When we hit the blackhole, we shatter due to too much energy entering our body,

2 - The blackhole doesn't give way to our body, and you just sit on it's surface.

The speed of sound can be infinite, or even negative. This reflects QE's spooky action at a distance. Spaghettification occurs because the particles of your body change their energy levels relative to each other - a quantum shock absorber would allow survival.

Blackholes also seem to suck matter in and spit it out - you ride clouds in, and ride out on jets of electrons and gamma rays. In doing so, you form a closed timelike loop, and begin to pile up at the 'Anus' of the blackhole.

Rather than a burning wall of fire, imagine it as a sphere of hardest ice with incredibly strong currents of ultra-pressurized water flowing passed it. Wormhole travel is like sailing, or soaring on updrafts.
