12345679 x 9 = 111111111
12345679 x 18 = 222222222
12345679 x 27 = 333333333
12345679 x 36 = 444444444
12345679 x 45 = 555555555
12345679 x 54 = 666666666
12345679 x 63 = 777777777
12345679 x 72 = 888888888
12345679 x 81 = 999999999

but WHY ?

the first one is neat, the following lines, however, are less impressive - and you should be able to see why..

I SEE WHY

12345679*9 = 12345679*10 - 12345679

Hmm, good post OP. I suck at math but let me think for a second...

9 x 2 = 18
9 x 3 = 27

First number is larger by one than the previous one, the second one is smaller by one than previous one.

9x9 gives us (8)1 - we write one down and carry over 8

7x9 gives us (6+1)[3 + 8] - we write one down and carry over 7

See why those are similar? We simply remove the value we have to subtract by one and then add one to the value we have to add, so the equation always ends in one EXCEPT for cases where second number results in 0 - this case is with 8, hence it is excluded from the multiplicand. 0 is known to be a frequent exception from mathematical rules so it's not surprising.

18 is simply 9x2 so the result of multiplication will simply be two times larger, and so it goes for 27(9x3), 36(9x4), et cetera.

Do you get me?

retards, retards everywhere

123456789 has 9 numbers

123456789x9 cant = a number with 9 numbers, it has to equal the numbers total, so it would be 10

in other words 11111 11111 shitbirds

how does 123456789 (9) x 9 (1) = 111111111 (9)

or you could just have said
