Go study photography and baroque poetry then die of a heroin overdose, guy. That'll show them.

But there is literally no intelligent reason not to choose nihilistic indulgence in poetic and aesthetic minutiae over pursuing science, which is arguably also minutiae of a different type.

Everything in the universe is psychical and controlled by rules. To say the universe is meaningless and life is meaningless while perusing meaningless subjects like simply reinforcing your own bias.

If you really wanted to understand reality, which any nihlist must at least have pretensions to understanding, is to know the known universe.

It's kinda dumb to say 'The the brain is just a blind, dumb machine like a meaty-meat-based-computer, ect, ect" when you neither know chemistry, you don't know biology and you don't even know how a computer works.

An ignorant person espousing philosophy has literally no say in philosophy since philosophy is literally a grand thesis on the universe and everything in it. If you do not even know the basics of how reality works, you literally have no say in philosophy, you can only regurgitate what somebody else has said.

It literally says it right there. Right there in the title. I like coming to /sci/ occasionally but your autismo makes me want to leave even more quickly.

Just throwing this out there.

Most people who come to /sci/ are insecure about their intelligence and are looking for validation rather than discussion.

There are many places on the internet where you can have decent science discussion. Who in their right mind would seek it out on 4chan?

The only people here are science trolls and idiots trying to feel smart (myself included).

Don't come here unless you're fishing for (You)s

>literally no intelligent reason
This more or less. The key being "intelligent" - matters of simple preference are more than enough justification for a huge amount of human activity. Scientists to a large degree do what they do because they want to. If you find something else more fulfilling, thats quite alright.
Though intelligence certainly correlates with ability to enjoy science.

>>7964578
>>thinks the observable universe is reality
I didn't really get that from his post, but the foundational assumptions you implicitly make when doing science (the universe is consistent over space and time, observable in some sense, and is possible to describe with predictive (again in some sense) models) do imply an objective though perhaps not entirely knowable reality
