Yes. Autism is usually diagnosed around the same age as kids get most of their vaccinations.

>Does he say there's a causal link?
No.

>Is there a causal link?
Probably not.

>Are vaccines completely safe?
No. Many people die from vaccines every year. You're provoking a change in the immune system, and it's always possible to have a bad reaction.

>Have vaccines been pretty safe in practice?
Yes. Safer than things like riding around in cars that we accept.

>Are vaccines inherently safe?
Absolutely not. Bad vaccines in the past have given people the diseases they're supposed to protect against. When you say you "trust vaccines", what you're saying is that you trust the bureaucractic process that validates them, not that you trust the science behind them.

>Is the population safer with vaccines than without them?
Probably, but a subtly bad vaccine, with delayed but devastating effects, that everyone in a generation took could take that whole generation down. It's a more realistic plot for a zombie apocalypse than most of the fictional ones.

>No? If the product is produced in the country, it is the same price. The tax would stimulate the buyer to buy the local product instead of the external.

If the import is the same price and quality then local product should have no problem competing. Local products already have the advantage of low transport cost. The whole reason you want tax on import is because your local product is more expensive and import cheaper. (which is the case for most Chinese imports).
If you add tax on foreign import and increase the price of a product, either locals will pay the higher price to get the foreign product, or local companies will increase their price to take advantage of the tax.

>And this would give the capitalists a chance to create a company with the same function in it's own country. Export would not be effected, wheil you would protect your countries own national interests.

This is the same problem as above. You are assuming local business can make the product as cheaply as the imports(which in case of usa and china, they cant because of cheap labour cost in china). Even assuming the local companies can make that product eventually AND there are enough local competition(unlikely) to drive down the price to foreign level, assuming the product manufacturing is not trivial, you will have a period of time when the local business will be at disadvantage.

What you are doing is killing competition, which gives local companies even less incentive to better their product and pricing

>The whole reason you want tax on import is because your local product is more expensive and import cheaper.
The reason would be, to give the companies a chance to compete with the bigger ones, Ikea would be a good comparison. A tax on them would give the locals a boost in sales and productivity, ergo growth in GDP.

>If you add tax on foreign import and increase the price of a product, either locals will pay the higher price to get the foreign product, or local companies will increase their price to take advantage of the tax
You say that as if there was no internal competition.

This would also be a good reason to tax import. People buy chinese products and your own company would have to move and the country would loose all the workforce, ergo a raise in unemployment. Local competition is also inevitable, as a smal company could compete with the bigger internal and outside, as long as it kept its price under the externals and it's quality above the internal.

It's killing foreign competition, wheil boosting the internal one. The overall competition would be lower, but the country and people would gain.

I've researched it a lot. Vaccines don't cause autism BUT they do trigger an unactivated gene. Which is why many kids get "autism". Doesn't even need to be autism, I read a case where this kid began to seize uncontrollably every day after getting the vaccine. It turns out that the vaccine triggered the seizures, but genetic testing showed that he had the gene for the epilepsy. Anyways, kid was required by doctors to NOT have any vaccines in order to prevent the seizures and the parents rely and hope that other parents vaccinated their kids so he doesn't contract anything.

>The reason would be, to give the companies a chance to compete with the bigger ones, Ikea would be a good comparison. A tax on them would give the locals a boost in sales and productivity, ergo growth in GDP.

But why cant the local companies compete with the global ones if their price is the same?

As I mentioned they already have the advantage of low transport cost.
Either local companies cant make cheap products or they can but have problems with marketing/management, which one is it?
(also at least in the case of USA/China the reason is clearly that china makes cheaper products that local companies cant match)

>This would also be a good reason to tax import. People buy chinese products and your own company would have to move and the country would loose all the workforce, ergo a raise in unemployment.

If you have unemployment, but your companies are still moving production to other countries, that means either you have higher minimum wage (or higher other taxes). You can solve this by lowering the minimum wage. But then you will have local people working for cheap rate which is bad for the country anyway.

The shirt you are wearing is so cheap because workers in bangladesh works for few cents a day on garments factories. If you want to bring garments factories into USA, either you pay locals few cents a day(not gonna happen ) or you make consumers pay higher price.

Someone somewhere needs to make cheap products for you to have comfortable life and affordable business, Its better to have that someone outside the country.

If we just plain didn't import products made with child labor, Americans wouldn't have to compete with children in Singapore for labor rates.
That sounds a lot more practical and effective than tariffs.

>But why cant the local companies compete with the global ones if their price is the same?
Global ones have a lot more of capital, so they can do away with small competition without a sweat.

>Either local companies cant make cheap products or they can but have problems with marketing/management, which one is it?
You forget China. They work longer and for a smaller salary. They also do not invest in R&D, as they can ripp off any product without external truble. The goal of a country is to improve the citizens life, not lower it to the level of the competitor.

>If you have unemployment, but your companies are still moving production to other countries, that means either you have higher minimum wage (or higher other taxes). You can solve this by lowering the minimum wage. But then you will have local people working for cheap rate which is bad for the country anyway.
The magical circle without solutions. The only way out is for stimulation to create new companies, not opening the market for products made in other countries.

>The shirt you are wearing is so cheap because workers in bangladesh works for few cents a day on garments factories. Again, not true. Thanks to machines and technology, we can manufacture our own shirts for pretty much the same price. This is why R&D is an important investment.

>>7924274

>Global ones have a lot more of capital, so they can do away with small competition without a sweat.
However much capital global companies have they still have to have their price higher than production and marketing cost. Unless they want to lose money. If global companies are lowering their price beyond profit limit thats a different issue.(predatory pricing). This is NOT the case with Chinese imports, as these companies can keep their low price for long time.

>You forget China. They work longer and for a smaller salary.

>Again, not true. Thanks to machines and technology, we can manufacture our own shirts for pretty much the same price. This is why R&D is an important investment.

You are contradicting yourself. Either local companies can make equally cheap products(through R&D) in which case they should be able to compete anyway OR they cant, in which case import tax would mean that the consumer price goes up.

>The magical circle without solutions. The only way out is for stimulation to create new companies, not opening the market for products made in other countries.
No. new local companies wont solve anything. You still have only two options, either make the consumers pay more or pay your workers less.(Well not counting R&D but if you can R&D your way out than you should be able to compete anyway.

You are giving up cheap imports that is essential for you that is impossible for you to match the price of, making life for everyone harder. When you can just keep importing the cheap product and USE that advantage to focus on the products that you are actually good at making.

Protectionism is trying to grow everything you need in your backyard. This is not going to work, there will always be others that can make certain things better and cheaper. You should focus on the things that you can make well
