I wouldn't say I have a deeper understanding of differential forms although I had to deal with this kind of maths a couple of times.
But I never found these maths to be necessary for my needs. It just always felt like it only involved some overcomplicated notations of stuff that could be written down more intuitively with the maths I already knew.

It's real. Got it during my math undergrad. I was retaking elementary trig at uni (took up to complex anal at CC just retook everything at Uni). The unit circle and things related to it are important. Took my shirt off for a few professors to show them.
