It's possible for things that are genetically distant to converge onto the same physical features. It is also possible that these things are much more genetically similar to other very different looking things than they are to similar looking things.

There will never be a concrete answer to these questions. There are genetic differences between races, the most obvious example is disease risks. Society would be much better off, if we were willing to admit we're different and that being different isn't a bad thing. Thousands of black men have died from heart disease because modern medicine used to treat them the same as every other ethnic group. There are multiple distinct genetic groups in africa. genetic diversity is a human strength, not something to be hidden away and then pretend it doesn't exist.
