Not that poster, but "Computer Science" at a university encompasses a wide variety of programs. Computer Science degrees are pretty silly, not rubbish. They typically produce IT people that do a lot of the grunt work that doesn't require a lot of in depth knowledge and education, just a good understanding of the basics of computer problems.

I actually have quite a few friends at MIT who call themselves computer science majors. I myself am a CS major at a school with similar ranking to MIT, and I have coursework that is nearly identical to theirs.

Just an addendum to this, but the EECS major (what we call CE) in my school is also literally the same as the computer science major, with a few of the theory classes replaced with a few EE labs and a computer organization course (that also counts towards CS requirements if you take it).

I took a shitty salary for my 75k with a defree in Computer and Electrical Engineering; but, I also took a safe one that gives me at LEAST 5% increases in salry each year plus a lot more for raises. Not too many people can say that. If I could, I would be writing for hedge fund managers and be banking a shit ton of cash, but that's too shaky and too stressful. Note that these are my OWN stories, and not some rich random fags success story.
