what has science done lately to cure mental illnesses or at least make the dangerous ones detectable so we can stop them from buying guns?

I don't think you understand mental illness or science enough to be asking questions about either.

Are you proposing there's a mental illness that makes people compulsively buy guns? Why guns in particular? Why not knives or spears or something else? Why not just pick up a brick and throw it at someone's head? How do you know that they intend to do with something that could be used as a weapon? What do you consider to be a "dangerous" mental illness? Is there an established standard "normal" state of mental health that has been measured and determined? Is the human brain flawless and perfect in every sense? Aren't imperfections of the mind and neuroses what makes people human? Is violence not part of the human condition? Why are you so fucking stupid?

>Are you proposing there's a mental illness that makes people compulsively buy guns?

no, not usually but for those who are violent &mentally ill it makes them more dangerous.

>Why guns in particular?
because guns can kill people

>Why not knives or spears or something else?
sure we can discuss those too

>Why not just pick up a brick and throw it at someone's head?
bricks aren't intended to be used as a weapon when they are made

>How do you know that they intend to do with something that could be used as a weapon?
my emphasis is on the 'dangerous ones' that are violent

> What do you consider to be a "dangerous" mental illness?
violent and a danger to others .

> Is there an established standard "normal" state of mental health that has been measured and determined? Is the human brain flawless and perfect in every sense? Aren't imperfections of the mind and neuroses what makes people human?

i don't know. good questions .

>Is violence not part of the human condition?
doesn't mean society shouldn't put limits on it

>Why are you so fucking stupid?
then educate me please

>because guns can kill people
An inanimate object can't intentionally kill unless it's in the hands of a person. You've imposed human qualities onto something that isn't even living.

>bricks aren't intended to be used as a weapon when they are made
They can be. So can gravity, household chemicals, vehicles, toxic substances and solid surfaces

>my emphasis is on the 'dangerous ones' that are violent
Such as? Severe autism can be considered to be dangerous and violent. Even in the absence of a firearm. Epileptic seizures can be considered dangerous and violent, and even then the sufferer is more of a danger to themselves.

>violent and a danger to others.
Those are subjective and are not necessarily limited to one single mental illness. Mental illnesses are complex.

>doesn't mean society shouldn't put limits on it
Why should it be society's responsibility? Why not personal or individual responsibility? You already have civil services like law enforcement to take care of violent crime. (Which isn't always effective)

What's that got to do with mental illness? The statistics quite clearly show that neurotypical people are more likely to commit violence - against both other typicals and against the divergent - than neurodivergent people are.

Back in the day we would give lobotomies and electroshock therapy to those we deemed to be out of order and dangerous to society: People who had the audacity to talk back, rambunctious, misbehaved, talked too much, couldn't bottle up their emotions or were just too sassy and cheeky for their own good were subjected to these effective and revolutionary treatments.

But somewhere along the way some jackasses suddenly decided that these treatments were "unethical" and "inhumane" and had them outlawed, and to be honest society has been going downhill ever since. The fucking nerve, eh?

Even if he is wrong, what does OP's statement that guns kill people have to do with mental health/illness? What does warfare fall under?
