Would consuming more salt make you smarter? I generally feel smarter when I've had a lot of salt, my scientific reasoning that your body absorbs a greater deal of water and perhaps in the same fashion that creatine makes you smarter, your brain mass expands.

Can someone debunk this for me or tell me why I'm wrong?

You need salts for nerve function; fun fact, your brain is made of nerves

Eating a bowl of salt probably doesn`t help though

for sure, but based on your first statement, what is the reason to believe that eating a low sodium diet is better as is common belief? I for one would forego blood pressure risks for increased brain function

I typically put lemon juice in my water for the salts and minerals, and it helps me recover from being dehydrated or a night of drinking faster than water alone. Maybe it also helps function beyond normal, I don't know but I think it's certainly possible.

some recent research that I've read said that sodium intake does not have as significant an impact on blood pressure levels for people that don't have any pre-existing conditions.

If you eat a lot of extra salt, your body will just get rid of it in your piss

while I can see the benefit of citrus alkalizing your blood, theres no salt in lemons is there?
still bumping for anyone with a scientific answer to this, any health/bio specialists out there?

I have not seen salt in any list of nootropic substances.

What could it be?
>a recommendation of something salty
>a recommendation of something for quenching thirst
>a recommendation of a source of knowledge, referencing how much information is stored in sperm
>a salty response, meant to help stay thirsty for knowledge
>an annoyed response to a bad joke

Which is it?

Skip the citrus for alkalizing your blood and just inject sodium hydroxide. It should be safer because all you get is sodium, the same stuff in salt, rather than the hundreds of pesticides and GMOs you get with just one lemon.
