Oh man, that would be an instadrop for me. The third edition of this book corrects this error, but... Jesus, I wouldn't be able to trust anything this book had to say after seeing that.

You guys are autistic as fuck. It's a typo. "Oops." Doesn't mean the entire contents of the text is fucked.

Jesus christ. What the actual fuck is wrong with people and semantics these days?

Seems more like a pun to me. It is kind of humorous actually, because of the math required for engineering.

If anything it's the editor who's retarded.

I'm 24. Everywhere I go people go crazy over semantics. "You made a spelling/grammatical error in your argument, ARGUMENT REJECTED". Another example: I have a friend who was making a living from youtube and streaming at one point. His parents told him to start paying rent. He did. His parents then asked for him to pay for all his other expenses. He did. Then they told him he needed to get a job or get out. He already had an actual, real job where he was making an actual steady income working many many hours per day editing and creating video - youtube/streaming. Due to semantics, because he didn't want to make several hundred dollars less per month by working a traditional minimum wage job, he got thrown out of his house and disowned by his family. He had to put his entire life on hold for months, because of semantics.

That's fucked up.

lol, never thought about it that way. actually that's pretty funny.

>> No.7506423

>>7506417
They were just coming up with reasons to pester him until he moved out of the house, dude. Semantics had nothing to do with it.

Engineers can't English. Everyone already knew this.

>> No.7506869

>>7506865
With the exception of one engineer, who speaks English as a 4th language and types liek dis, the worst engineers at my company write better than the best management or sales staff.

There's one chick from HR that could probably outdo a few of them, but she's one of those anal retentive bitches who would go postal if she saw a misused semicolon.

Seriously though, the engineering manager (not an engineer) reads and writes like I did when I was in 6th grade. Reading through his messages makes me want to swallow a bullet with my brain.
