How much missed sleep do you need during Uni for it to start seriously affecting your studying/tests etc?

For example, if you sleep for 6 hours on average for a while, how much does that affect you compared to getting the full 8 hours?

I really want to know this.

I've been sleeping 6.5-7 hours a night since starting mechanical engineering and I'm doing fine

You need less than two hours sleep a night before you can see an improvement in your grades.

Whenever I'm in school I try to go to bed early but I always end up doing since kind of biphasic sleep pattern. I sleep 2-6 hours at night then 2-4 hours in the late afternoon/evening. I anyways feel like I get my best work done at night.

Not sure if this is relevant but I also have ADHD-I and take Ritalin lol.
