Is there any field better to be in right now than Electrical and Computer Engineering? Everything exciting about science and it's applications is happening in that field.

Kind of slowing down tbh. You guys were just waiting around coming up with crazy untestable shit until a bunch of nuclear/mech engineers and electrical engineers (electromagnetism, computer interface, etc) came and designed the tool you need to actually start making some progress

It's not bait. What's so bad about engineering. It's taking scientific principles and then manipulating/controlling them to create things. In my opinion it's better than pure science because it extends it

I got my ECE degree five years ago. I'm sort of regretting not going plain Electrical. Electrical and Computer engineering has only been around for about 25, so most people don't know what it's about or assume it's one of those fake engineering titles like Audio Engineer or Sanitation Engineer. Most employers have programmer positions and hardware positions without much overlap, so you end up only being able to using half your skills. Gone are the days when small computers were so expensive and slow that every project needed super efficient C/ASM firmware and a lot of application specific digital logic.

so what I'm an undergrad, I plan on getting a masters and phd and doing research in applied physics, quantum computing, or materials science as it relates to electronics devices. plus the job outlook is so good, I'll be able to do and apply science while also having a wife and kids
also that anon didnt make a point
>>7488436
it's not shitposting you cuck you are looking for validation from /sci/ pure science majors who are just engineering rejects or people who couldn't cut it engineering. my calculus teacher in highscool was doing engineering and then switched to puremath because he said engineering was too hard lol

every EE program in my province was ECE you have the option of whether or not you wanna study CE in depth in 2nd year or 3rd year so idk if I'll do that yet
the other focus areas are mechatronics, photonics, electromagnetism, and communications, I think there may be more tho

You are Blue Pilled as fuck anon. Oh well, if it makes you happy.

ps: I have studied and still am in contact with the subjects and exercises in both engineering and pure science fields.

Because launch costs are going down, and they will continue to decrease significantly. This is mostly due to SpaceX forcing the rest of the launch industry to start developing reusability in order to compete. When launch prices go down, space becomes a profitable enterprise.
