Considering most student think 'good' = 'easy A', I don't think so.

But anyway, I'm sure the vast majority of professors become professors to do research, not teach.

These rating systems can be decent when you have obviously unmotivated doctorates teaching your class. With that said, some people are automatically hostile towards teachers who give bad grades or do not comply with whatever bullshit they need. And it's necessary to view these with caution. It's not good for telling which teachers are the best, but it can be a good tool for telling which are unanimously shit.

These are next to useless, and most people are aware of this. People only use them to bitch about "unfair profs" or to find the professors who give free A's.

This.

You have to suck dick and give everyone a 4.0 for them to think you're good.

It doesn't matter how good you are, lazy faggots will give you a bad rating because they don't want to open a textbook themselves.

If you ask a lot of teachers, they'll tell you that teaching wasn't their first job, or that they didn't want to be a teacher in the first place. They get payed pretty well, so that's probably why.
