does anyone else see the irony that /sci/ is always bashing philosophy but there are also always at least three threads on consciousness?

/sci/ is always bashing OPs who make shitty 'muh consciousness bro' and /pol/ threads. I don't see the conflict.

what's so bad about philosophy?

>implying science can satisfy our need for love, companionship, and spiritual fulfillment

/sci/ has both people who seriously study a scientific field in university or independently and also popsci fans.
The popsci fans make the randoms threads about consciousness.
The actual science students bash philosophy for its lack of rigor and ability to actually prove anything.

I really like philosophy but I always see anons shitting on philosophy while constantly discussing philosophical topics. It gives me the feeling that most posters don't actually have a clue what philosophy is

Philosophy is the last resort for pseudo-intellectual teenagers who are too uneducated to talk about actual science and math where their baseless drivel would be objectively disproved.

That just proves me right. sure, pseudo-intellectual teenagers can talk philosophy, just like they can do their chemistry and algebra homework. an idiot can do math too, just at a much more basic level, same goes for philosophy, and every field of study. The complexity of your subject does not determine your intelligence, it goes the other way around
