I fell behind on a Calculus I course using Stewart as the text and I'm 4 chapters behind.

I have until next week to make up for it, and I haven't done math in years.

What's the best way to stimulate learning capacity?

Fistfuls of adderall. I had to squeeze a semester of calc into 3 days. Squeaked by with a B+. I ain't mad.

>> No.7368954

Four chapters in a week is perfectly doable. Just get up at 8 am, drink coffee, eat breakfast, take a shit and go to the library for the rest of the day, until 6 pm. Unless you're stupid of course, this should get you through the mats in no-time.

I'm semi-stupid so it takes a little longer since I haven't done some operation in years, so I'm going back and reviewing factoring and shit like logarithms.

Faggots spend all day multitasking on the web, degrading their attention with 6 second vine videos, then are surprised they cant read a page without getting distracted.

To finish college you dont need to be smart. you need to pay attention. You fucked up your own brain online, now spend a few weeks not doing that shit or jerking off like a 19th century mental patient, so you can learn to just read a goddamned book. All those people who do pass the course, yeah not so smart, just dont have attention span of a braindamaged guinea pig.

pretty much everyone i know in STEM ingested copious amounts of stimulants to get through college, much less calc 1. I myself probably took almost 4 or 5 grams of adderall over the last semester juggling o-chem, multivariable calc, biology and physics. I pulled off a 3.8 and somehow managed to stay sane. I'd say I'm pretty proud of myself, so go get yourself some adderall OP>>7368901

I learned calculus from Paul Dawking's site. He has calc 1,2,3 + linear algebra. It's easier to learn than from books if you don't want all the details.

Is khan academy any good? I just started their calc program in preparation for next semester and I don't want to waste any time.

>> No.7372515

Khan academy is too basic if you want to pass a college exam. Go for PD, he actually explains how to solve the exercises and his exercises get quiet difficult. You can then watch some videos from patrickjmt when you don't understand something from PD. I find his explanations to be better suited for a school setting than khan.

BTW, calculus is not difficult but make sure you know algebra WELL. You NEED to know trig, algebra and your log, exponents etc. properties otherwise don't even bother starting with calculus. Learn that first.

I started yesterday and limits are a joke I'm sure it will get much more challenging. My trig is weak though so I'll review that before continuing, thanks for your advice!

Another anon.
Is khanacademy better for that?
Or would I be better off following a book?
Which would you suggest so I can get fast into the stuff?

Depends on your existing knowledge, the site above has algebra as well, just pick the topics you need to refresh. I'd also give patrickjmt a try for some stuff and khan as well. I prefer PatrickJMT but that's just me.

You could get off with just videos for these though, the above two sources have them.

I suggest watching some videos or what you need to know instead of reading the book. I was never a fan of Stewart.
