One main drawback of the Hendo "hover"board is that it can only work over non-ferromagnetic conductors.

Why can't we just build aluminum or copper roads?

What about aluminum? It's pretty cheap right?

It's not like we're asking to pave all the roads with copper. Imagine copper pathways in shopping malls, for instance.

Getting around shopping malls isn't really a problem that needs solving.

Or even smaller scale. Imagine copper between computer and kitchen

Another main drawback of the Hendo hoverboard is that it's a shitty piece of shit that doesn't even work better than a skateboard.

The concept is pretty cool but it isn't practical. For one, the hover board is apparently heavy as fuck which makes it difficult to maneuver. Secondly, you can't really use it anywhere because it needs to be over some sort of conductor. I'm pretty sure the board works of off eddy currents so you would get better levitation with thicker conductors and they are going to have to be some sort of thickness to work at all. All of that is going to cost money. There are other problems too but those are the big issues.

>One main drawback
Like a complete waste of time?
Well done, someone discovered eddy currents.
And since you're willing to spend so much energy just to float above ground, you may well use hovercraft technology.
This pretty much eliminates the need for a thick conductive surface.

Aluminum is cheap to a point. It's really hard to mine aluminum. Before it was widely recycled, there was a point when it was more expensive than gold.

It wasn't about recycling but getting Al from Al Ore cheaply.

it's still cheaper to recycle aluminum than to smelt it. Unlike most other materials people recycle

Al ~ $1/kg
Something like 1 cm thick Al is required
Something like 1 m wide paths is required
Al is ~ 2700 kg per cubic meter
100 meters of path ~ $2700
That's actually way better than I thought it would be
But the battery only lasts something like 2 minutes which gives the impression in uses enough energy to run your house so even if it could hover over dirt it wouldn't be cheap to use

I hate these stupid "le reddit arme maymay" faggots. YouTube comments are pretty stupid anyways, but this meme just pisses me off, just because of how forced it is. I had to download hidefedora to get rid of most of these posts.
