Neurobiologically speaking, what is the reason why high intelligence and happiness are mutually exclusive?

>> No.7001513

>>7001510
High IQ people tend to overanalyze and apply logic to situations that aren't logic (e.g. relationships, attraction, dating). They overanalyze so much they fail at implementation or never implement due to over-analyzation.

My theory is that the same neurotransmitter can only do one thing, i.e. either produce intelligence or happiness. So you can't have both.

if you're depressed, it's because you're not smart enough to think your way out of it.

Human emotions are a conscious choice, you can choose not to have them with enough mental effort.

There's therapy to help people perceive things that happen in a more positive light. And the reverse is also true. You can try and manipulate people into perceiving everything that happens to them as negative by creating negative emotional associations to words and then plant those words cleverly around them.

But there is such thing as depression, which is recognized as disorder with unclear reasons of it progression. It's not a wholly psychologicall thing, but mostly physiological, and sometimes it's only possible to hide its symptoms, but only temporarily.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can just choose to be happy. You can't work around anedonia, for example, because it is an inability to enjoy things. And like >>7001856 said, it isn't just a "mind" thing. There are some genetic bases to these conditions. You can't just shut down your genes because you want to.

>> No.7001904

>>7001891
Yes that is true, physical injury or disease can cause depression or anedonia if those injuries / diseases hurt the parts of the brain which usually produces those chemicals / fires off those neurons.

I mention symbiotic relationships in nature (not trees, just in general). Other anon said "but trees compete with each other so you're wrong".

I do this but with positivity.

I figured if I wanted to change how I feel and the people around me are still negative I wont change.

It works in a week or two.

I realized the human mind is all about symbolism and the short term memory thereof. It's how tv ads work. It's about willpower and beliefs.

I can't really explain it further because I'm bad at explaining things, but I can change that also if I make it a goal to.
