At a good school, it's basically a superset of mathematics where you study highly theoretical abstract mathematics like the principle of induction and modulo arithmetic that you wouldn't even begin to start to understand them. It's impossible to get better than a C in those classes since they teaching the entirety of a Math PhD in 2 to 3 courses.
