There is no such thing as more evolved. You are just as evolved as a goldfish, because evolution adapts a species only enough to ensure greater survivability. Goldfish achieve this by having a shitton of offspring, armadillos have protective shells that make attacks more survibvable, and humans have intelligence that allows us to adapt to most situations through problem solving and tool usage.

We didn't need armor skin, big claws, or extreme physical ability. We just needed large, complex brains capable of neutralizing weaknesses as they became apparent. And thumbs. Opposable thumbs are useful as fuck.

There's not really anything that biologically separates us from everything else. Our brains are probably more complex, but that's really it.

I'd have to say writing things down so that our knowledge doesn't die with us. Word of mouth only gets a society so far. But on the whole there's very little difference, particularly in terms of behaviour. Especially around women or when drunk.

Main differences that allow us to do the weird things we do:
Language
Thumbs
Brains

Language and brains give us the ability to pass technology and learn from one another. So instead of bring born and having to figure out what plants are good to eat, how addition works, etc yourself, you can get it from other people and add on to that. Eventually our population, brains, and accumulated knowledge became powerful to begin to develop technology
