Reminder that the sum of all positive integers is -1/12

Nope, but if so, then is the sum of all negative integers <span class="math">\frac{1}{12}[/spoiler]?

it's obviously ∞ and with our shitty math that can be whatever number you want

its an aritfact

You are manipulating infinity. You can get whatever number you want it just depends on your method.

Do you need proof to realise that the sum of an infinite quantity of integers set is equal to infinity?

I need proof of 1+2+3... = -1/12

I know exactly how Ramanujan summation and algebra works. I just think you don't and are looking for a reason to shitpost and look smart on an anonymous image board.

Please stop spreading misleading information. The series still diverge so there is no definite result. However -1/12 is used to represent the series, and this representation is accurate, although not a strict sum. This representation arises after regularizing the series with the Riemman-Zeta function. Alternatively this answer can be also found with the Ramanujan summation, which is also not a strict sum.

So what it boils down to is

infinity -1/4 = -1/12

That's because -1/12 is the y intercept of a slope that represents the summation of all numbers, in order.

It's not the sum of all numbers.

Not a math guy, but in the numberphile video he says the series

1 + 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1........ = 0.5

That's wrong, right?

>> No.6681109

>>6681074
Yup, the Ramanujan summation is not the same as the sum. The actual sum is divergent.
