I octuple check the time and location of every exam I have.

He claimed to be in a car accident and made a fake e-mail to masquerade as his insurance agent and send "proof" to his university which was apparently required to have a make-up final.

How do I improve this piece-of-shit email I'm about to send to my professor?

Dear Anon,

I missed my final exam because I mistakenly thought it was on Wednesday (which I now know is when my UNIT460 exam is on) instead of Monday.

I feel awful about having forgotten. It's like a bad dream come true. Is there anything I can do short of re-taking the unit next year?

They don't do retakes in murica? Where I live, there is a schedueled retake for every exam. You do lose homework bonus, if applicable, but at least you can still pass. You can even keep your transcript looking peachy if you want

I don't know if we have scheduled retakes in America, but I once decided that because of a quirk of my universities GPA system, it would be favorable for me to fail Chem 101 my first semester. I just didn't show up to the final, didn't explain anything to the professor, and forgot about it. Then about a year later, I realized what an idiot decision that was, and emailed my professor. He told me that he had given me an incomplete when I didn't show, and that I could take the final with the people from his current semester at no penalty. Miracles really do happen.

I'm glad you ask! That masterpiece of a plan was the crowning gem of my freshman year.

At my university, we are able to drop two courses in which we made a C- or below from our GPA. I decided a little bit late in the game that I wanted to matriculate into biomedical engineering, which is incredibly competitive at my university, and you basically need a 4.0 and a bunch of other chops to get in.

I was fixing to make a solid B at best in Chem 101 (which would fuck my GPA), so I decided I'd fail the final, get a C- in chemistry, and then get the C- wiped off my GPA so I could get into biomed.
