I was debating whether to put square meters, but then I'd have to spend a page or two trying to explain in a simple way what the term "squared" means. Since the terminology is irrelevant really, I figured I'd drop that and stick with at least teaching the math itself. I could have defined most terms a lot more thoroughly... but the terms themselves don't matter as much.

Forgive my ignorance, but how do we make the leap from a circle's area (or "how big it is") to a triangle?
I'm not familiar with this connection and it doesn't strike me as intuitive. I guess I can visualize it as follows:
We have a circle possessing a defined area. We could cut the circle from center to edge, this cut would be the radius. If we then "unrap" the circle in order to make the perimeter edge of the circle into a straight line, we find that have a straight line connecting the center of the circle to the distant edge of the straightened out perimeter.

Is there a better way to understand this? (Excluding of course simply comparing the formula for a right triangle to the formula for a circle's area: 1/2bh=1/2(pi*2d)r, which shows the equivilence but not the source of intuitive connection suggested by Modulus). I think the comic would be better if you explained this point a bit more and introduced the idea of area. Talking about "bigness" the whole time seems like a mistake to me. If the reader understands anything in the story they'll be able to comprehend a well introduced concept of area.
