In 1000 years humans will have probably colonized other planets and space travel will be like taking the bus

How does that make you feel right now?

>> No.6324132

I'll tell you how it makes me feel: It physically disgusts me to see children like OP anti-intellectually preferring fantasy and escapism over science and reality. You dumb shitposter could have made a science or math thread, but instead you made a childish blogging thread, conveying no information at all. This thread does neither provide nor request scientific or mathematical information. It is a waste of spacetime without potential for any kind of insightful discussion.

It depends.

If we find ways to dramatically increase a human lifespan and I get to live during that entire 1000yr period (and hopefully beyond) then I'd say it would make me feel pretty damn good.

But if I knew that I would die within the next 60 years or so like a normal human then it would make me bitter.
Bitter because I would know that while I spent my entire childhood dreaming of doing things like that it will be all the undeserving scum of the human race (or rather their children) who get to experience it, and all the while all they will care about the entire time is still their social status and having sex.

If it's the second outcome (which it almost certainly is) all I can do is hope that the scientists and the great minds that went into developing those technologies are among the first people to experience them. It would be a real shame if our first luxury living human domicile in space is only inhabited by dumb celebrities, and corrupt politicians and businessmen.

Nothing because that won't happen.

Heres what will happen in 1000 years.

-Virtual reality will be common place
-Antartica will be heavily industrialized by the US, Russia, Germany, Japan and China
-Bangladesh will become Venice "Indian edition"
-Mexico and Nigeria will finally get their shit together
-South Korea will overtake north korea by sheer economic and millitary structure.
-Germany will asorb two neighboring countries through economic means.
-Androids with above adequate intelligence and movement will be common place.
-Deep sea colonization will be in full swing developing several underwater networks
-Humans will colonize mars
-Proxy androids will work on seed development for humans and plants through remote virtual reality on europa.
-The first sighting and contact with simple alien organisms will come about.
-Proxy drones will investigate venus, mercury, jupiter and saturn for research.
-A series of interconnecting satellites will screen uranus and neptune in full detail.
-More satellites and drones will be sent into deep space.

Basically man will get as far as mars and all other expansion will be done by machines and human seed projects.

Uhh human civilisation is actually at its most now. Murder and general death (due to illness or other means) is at an all time low, poverty is at an all time low, education is at an all time high, etc, etc

Things SEEM shit because the exchange and access of information is ever increasing and the rate of information exchange and ease of access to said information is always at a maximum compared to any past point so it's easier now than it ever was to see or hear about the shit that's happening elsewhere. When you actually take a look at the statistics now we're in a fucking golden age of humanity, though. Quit being so bloody pessimistic.

We'll be around in 1000 years in some capacity or another.

> "In 1000 years humans will have probably colonized other planets and space travel will be like taking the bus"

'no'

We're not going any further than some Saturn moons (even if that much - I suspect that by 3000 CE we'll have settlements on moon and maybe on Mars, but only for the hell of it).

Space is BIG. And to send spaceships through the functionally infinite emptiness to land on a barren rock a hundred thousand years later is nonsensical. It cannot and will not be suggested as an option by any thinking person.

The "evolution" (I don't want to use the word "expansion", cause it's not a really good word to describe it) will go inwards, not outwards.

In no time we'll have virtual realities so abundant in everything we could've ever imagined that there will be literally no point in moving away from Earth. No one's gonna fly through space forever if you can be down here and experience anything you've ever wanted.

Plus, we would never make it on such long distances. Commander Chris Hadfield spent 166 days in space (non-stop) with a training program that included 4 hours of physical activity (cardiovascular and resistance training) every day to keep the blood flowing and even he had a reported 20% decrease in bone marrow density after returning to Earth. After orbiting the Earth for 166 days.

And you want to send people to other planets?

BTW on Hadfield - he's got a bunch of great videos from zero gravity states:
