TL;DR
I am uneducated pleb. How do I start learning basics of math.

Hello, /sci/.

When I was a child, I was naive and silly. I thought studying math would be pure waste of time, because my profession is not going to be related to it at all. So after 5th grade I started to slowly skip homework, and listening to teachers. In 10th grade I was not listening math teachers at all, if I attended the lessons at all.

As grew, however, my perspective on life have changed, and I was no longer interested in profession I've chosen years ago. Now I actually need math to pass exams to get to a uni.

Is there any resources that I can use to fill gaps in my knowledge and learn what I don't know yet? Any online courses or books?

Just watch khan academy videos man. You don't even learn real math until uni anyways.

Well I am afraid of failing miserably at learning "real math", because I haven't payed enough attention to math at school, and most likely don't know some essentials.

Thanks for the reply, I will watch the videos.

Also, my apologise for the grammar of the first post.

Have checked it. The closest to what I look for is this hand drawn picture. I hoped for more specific advise, like youtube channels, websites, books, etc.

I failed a math course in grade 11 due to laziness. I went to summer school, put in a tiny bit of effort while working on the same material, and finished with close to 100%. I'm doing my second year in electrical engineering right now.

In my experience, even after spending a year off of school, the math that you learn in your four years of high school is so ridiculously trivial that you can pick it up in a week or two before your first calculus class.

I've started watching the videos, and I liked the fact that the author starts with very basics. Although he doesn't go into details: whole history of algebra was covered in less, than 30 minutes. In the worst case I will google for the details.

Thanks again for suggesting the channel, anon!

Khan Academy isn't going to teach you everything you need to know in 10 minute videos. It's only a supplement to doing practice problems and building the bridge between kind of getting it and actually understanding.
