STEM field degrees...
Comp sci
Any engineering besides civil
Mathematics/a degree based around stats, or applied mathematics

If you want to know a fair amount of mathematics while also having job security and a good amount of econ and law, do finance.

I'm personally majoring in econ. Might change it, dunno. I want to do data analysis.

Finance has to be the biggest trap for young aspiring professionals.
Oh suuure, if you make it to the big positions, you make a lot of money right?
Well guess what, most of the guys who think "I'mma make it into finance for the big bucks" don't. They end up doing shitty backoffice work.

Yes, on average, STEMs who go into finance do make more money, but... 30% more on average.
Which means, considering the usually huge workload, that they end up with hourly wages equal to the others who went into traditional engineering, for a job they don't really like. And they end up getting burnt up with carriers opportunities which are not that great.

The smart way if you wanna have a lucrative corporate career is consulting.

Seconding consulting.

Engineering consultants are usually specialists in a specific field with advanced degrees. People use them to solve difficult problems or to get an "expert opinion" on a particular matter.
