How likely is this to be true? I mean I became pretty skeptic about such things in the last year but this is said by actual scientists.

It's true but media is taking the words out of context and out of proportion.

The scientists only hypothesized a feasible mechanism for it occurring. There is absolutely no evidence that it's actually happened or ever will happen.

It's mathematical proof that this scenario is not impossible.

It has nothing to do with evidence.

Why are you talking about science now? Didn't you say it was a "mathmematical" proof and had nothing to do with science?

are you really confused about what the word 'mathematical' means in this context, or are you just trolling me?

Why don't you enlighten me? Show me the math. I'd love to go through it with you and evaluate its validity.

It is your burden of proof. I don't even understand anymore what you're talking about.

In >>5915326 you called it a "mathematical proof" and said "It has nothing to do with evidence."

the key word here is "could"
aliens "could" be on earth already
we "could" be aliens ourselves
this article is pretty vacuous, I'm guessing they mean to be telling us that it's more likely than ever before, or something along those lines. it's still not very informative.
