I opened up a DVD drive while it was powered, and the laser it has is classified as 3B Class Laser. Now, at this moment I don't see any changes or anything, nor feel any, now i looked at it for a 30 secs, though i saw red laser only 2-5 secs, and I know it releases infra-red too so I might have been exposed to that aswell.

What damage did it do to my eyes? I wasn't too close to it and it wasnt directly pointed at me, i saw it from the side-ish

Unless it shined into your cornea, you're okay.

You're probably fine but you really should go get a retina scan of both eyes to check. Get them to check your central and peripheral vision too.

Don't fucking stare at laser sources in the future. IR in particular is the most dangerous laser source because your eye focuses it but you can't perceive it, so you can just stand there burning your retina irreparably.

Even a few seconds is enough to get permanent blind spots and scar tissue on the retina. You might not even notice for a while if you have it because the brain compensates for them.

I'm dead serious about the appointment. In a worst-case scenario, you can end up with a detached retina as the scar tissue forms and creates a detachment point.

I went to the doctor, but some retard muslim guy told me its all good without even looking at it right, just putting a flashlight on my eyes asking if it bothers me.

It was an ER thing so i guess i'll get an appointment. Thanks. So, say, if they do see that i have it damaged, what can they do to fix it? If they can do anything...

With near visible IR that is true but up in the far IR spectrum like what a CO2 laser would make it's the inversed, it won't go through your cornea so it just burns the shit out of your easily replaceable cornea and doesn't even touch your cornea.

>easily replaceable cornea
What fucking planet and time period are you from? We can't even reshape a cornea reliably and without side effects to correct simply deformations, let alone replace the fucking thing easily, comfortably and permanently.

Maybe if your name is Mohammed ibn Shaderp al Moneybags and you have nothing worth looking at where you live, but for anyone else a cornea replacement would be a painful and completely sub-optimal solution.

You are right though, I should have specified near-IR.

As I said, you're probably fine and that's obviously what the doctor thought, but the ER is the conveyor belt of the medical industry. They'll save your life, but they don't have time for anything more than patchwork and rushed prognoses.

You're most likely fine, get the check as everyone else has said.

I got hit with a 445nm laser, and had a spot similar to this pic(not me), in fact, the guy that posted this (I think on laserpointerforums) was hit with an almost identical laser that I was hit with.
