I believe in a more advanced entity, not necessarily a "god" (that definition should be checked, because when in some decades we have power over weather, the nordic god Thor and greek god Zeus will be outpowered by mere mortals with technology).
With advanced nanotechnology (having self-replicating nanobots that rearrange molecules and form complex objects on the macro-scale) you can pretty much control the three spatial dimensions, only leaving time. That's a huge deal, and most gods should fear it's consequences.
With the accelerating (and exponential) pace of technology, and considering how young we are as a species, and knowing for how long the universe has been around, and how big it is, I think something more advanced than us must exist, and if seen by humans, it's power would be incomprehensible and it would be called a god.
