What does it mean when women have more white matter than men and men have more gray matter than women?

http://science.howstuffworks.com/life/men-women-different-brains1.htm

"Men also have approximately 6.5 times more gray matter in the brain than women, but before the heads of all the men out there start to swell, listen to this: Women have about 10 times more white matter than men do [source: Carey]. This difference may account for differences in how men and women think. Men seem to think with their gray matter, which is full of active neurons. Women think with the white matter, which consists more of connections between the neurons. In this way, a woman's brain is a bit more complicated in setup, but those connections may allow a woman's brain to work faster than a man's [source: Hotz]."

So they think faster than us? Fuck.

Us?
I am not a guy.

And the speed at which one thinks varies greatly; it depends on the individual. Gender is not the only factor.

Shut the fuck up. Humans are humans faggot.
>Why are female brains different from male brains?
>why are male brains different from male brains?
>why are female brains different from other female brains?
>why is OP's brain similiar to a retard's brain?
>why are retard's brains different from retard's brains?
Statistical approximations my ass. Fuck off.

Someone actually wrote this? And published it? Without it being a joke?

Good lord.

Check the sources and read the source articles if you are still sceptical.

It's the equivalent to writing an article on a study in which you "statistically prooved" that after drinking alcohol a human is more attractive. Fucking retards will believe you if you use enough tests and publish it in a popular media magazine.

Are you saying that all tests are invalid?

I am reading one of the source articles (Neuroimage). The article has a lot of factual errors. It says that women have more white matter than men (the article says that women have a higher GM/WM ratio than men actually, it's the voxels associated with IQ they're talking about but didn't mention). They also talk about GM and WM voxels - A voxel can have both gray and white matter in it, doesn't mean that someone "thinks with their white matter". Even so, the sample sizes are pretty small.

>In general, men have approximately 6.5 times the amount of gray matter related to general intelligence than women, and women have nearly 10 times the amount of white matter related to intelligence than men. Gray matter represents information processing centers in the brain, and white matter represents the networking of – or connections between – these processing centers.

These differences are only in a small portion of the brain statistically correlated with "g" in iq tests, not the entire cereberal cortex. If those sex differences were present in the whole cortex it would be the most obvious thing ever, we would have found out about it hundreds if not thousands of years ago.

Also, it's about activity in these regions afaik, not brain size.

Yeah! They would be a super genius! They wouldn't need to learn anything because they would already a genius!
