Help me solve an argument /sci/.

There's two of me, standing next to each other, one is a clone that will imprint a copy of my mind at the moment of death onto it's brain, the other is just me.

I take a gun and I shoot myself in the medulla oblongata, therefore killing myself and imprinting my mind into the other clone.

Do I:
A) Wake up in the other clone when my brain is splattered on the floor
B) I just die and the clone thinks it just died and transferred into the new body

Simple question, just A or B.

B

>> No.5720216

Feel free to suggest your own hypothesis if you disagree with A or B though.

>>5720211

B

But then again, A and B are the same.

they are the same if he dies.
But if he doesn't die, then you just have two people who think they are the same person.
for a while.

This was a STNG episode.

Which?

A assumes that the conciousness magically transfers from your dead body into the clone at the moment of death instead of actually dying.

The one where Riker tries to teleport, and the Teleporter makes a copy that stays on the planet.

Would there really be a difference?

>> No.5720252

Not funny.

>> No.5720261

OP, that's a pretty bad analogue to getting podded. The transfer is done literally as that part of the brain dies. Its an entirely separate question.

>> No.5720267

What a pointless shit thread. Why do you make such a retarded and childish non-science off-topic thread?

Its vaguely science related, the nature of consciousness and all that.
Also its the result of a discussion over in /eog/ about the implications of getting podded.

>> No.5720284

We have 3 'consciousness' threads already. Go use those.

B, because there is no "you" to transfer.

No, it fucking isn't. Dualism/spiritualism belongs on >>>/x/. Retarded childrens' fantasies belong on >>>/b/. There is absolutely no science involved in impossible fictional scenarios working on premises which are contradicting science.
