I'm 27.
I'm not going to live to see the singularity...am I?

You're not going to see a vagina either.

I have, but only with 5 women.
I'm pretty much as beta as they come at my age.

Technology isn't usually one big development like that. It's more like lots of small developments, the cumulative effect of which only becomes apparent when you look back and think 'holy crap, did we really live like that?'

>> No.5666008

There is no singularity to live to see. So obviously the answer is "no".

There would be a singularity coming if there was a vast, abundant energy supply. But there's no such supply. The future is governed by Petroleum Starvation. This will eventually produce economic and population shrinkage, not growth. That will lead to war and survival concerns, not the expansion of the Human endeavor.

It is said to happen between 2030 and 2050. Be sure not to die before it happens.

Notice how your nuclear mythology doesn't actually supply the vast amount of your energy? It's because there are other factors, critical factors, that you're ignoring, but reality is not. Petroleum is Humanity's maximum fuel. It beats the SHIT out of all other energy sources, for the three critical factors of using it: Dirt cheap, energy dense, very practical. Nuclear energy is not dirt cheap and is impractical to use. Nuclear energy is just an add-on for the electrical system. The electrical system can't run your society; show me the electric airliner. Show me the electric bulldozer. OH WAIT YOU CAN'T. That's because your society's powerhouses are engines running on some distillation of petroleum.

Keep believing in the nuclear fairy, retard.

Don't mind if I do. Keep believing you're not a part of 'my' society.

You and I are going to live to see our lifespans extended well into the 100s. If we are lucky, a few of us will make it into the 200s or beyond.
The newest advances in molecular biology, as well as the whole 3d-printing craze (which has been around for a few decades, soon we'll get printed, functioning organs, though), coupled with the global economic crisis (people not working = people going to school) will further accelerate progress.
