/sci/, I have a concern. My brother is currently pursuing an liberal arts degree at a state school. He absolutely hates it, but he's now in his 6th semester, and he feels trapped. He's smart as shit but doesn't have the background in math. He wants to pursue a science, but feels like he's just too far behind to get started now. What does he have for options?

He can study the required science background by himself, of course.

is that the only hope he has? And how much more likely is it that he'll have a job with a bio degree than with an english degree

Start from scratch, a whole life spent hating your job isn't as bas as spending 3 more years as a student.
If he has the money of course. Or he could try to self teach him math and science.
There's khan academy for math. There's also Stanford and MIT lectures on youtube.

He'll need a degree for STEM fields though.

can this in any way translate to college credit? Because he could be as well educated as any college grad, but without the degree he is still hopeless

It took him 6 semesters to realize he hates it, wow.
he should
i) find what actually intrigues him
ii) change to that intrigue (i'm sure many of his credits will transfer)

he's hated it for most of his sophomore and now junior year. He's just not proactive and didn't want to waste credits, but the lack of job prospects + the uselessness of the work he's doing is becoming too much to him.
