Dear /sci/,
I just took 5cc of blood with a non-sharp needle using aftershave as disinfectant. There is no need to say that shit was painful.

Anyway after only 40 sec it started coagulating. Is there something that you can easily use to don't make it coagulate?

Commonly available blood thinners are aspirin and omega 3 supps.

I'm not a medfag, check with them, do they even have a board or they just crash here?

Wait, fuck, I didn't read properly, what the fuck are you doing m8? Is this some attempt at blood doping? You need a lot more than 5cc.

I have no idea man, I just wanted to take some of my blood and all I had in my bathroom was a syringe and aftershave

You don't?

BTW OP please don't do this again, you're clearly a retard and you're going to kill yourself (even a small air bubble will kill you).

I used it for injecting metoclopramide last week and I left them in the bathroom.

Actually I'm pretty good doing injections. This time I just took blood so non possibilty for air bubbles.

You used a dirty needle?

Holy shit dude, go to the goddamn hospital and tell them what you did before you get septicemia.

And you need anticoagulants in any container you want to draw blood in, unless you're checking the serum. Serum is the blood without the cells and clotting factors and all that.

Probably not going to work with those. Needles used for blood transfusions larger than those used for drugs.

It tried but I was scared that the needle would flex

OP if you have a microscope you can look at it.

Other than that, you have a syringe full of red liquid. Congratulations.

As I started pushing it started flexing really hard, I'd prefer to don't have a broken needle in my arm. Anyway I had a sharper needle, there was no point using it.

BEFORE ANY OF THIS, use an antiseptic like KI solution or hand sanitizer. Your aftershave I doubt is an antiseptic

1. Get belt
2. Tighten it TIGHT around the lower bicep of arm you don't use (left if you are right handed, vice versa)
3. Apply sudden pressure (slapping) to area below belt on the surface with your palm facing up
4. Wait for cephalic vein to reveal itself near top of joint bed
5. Apply needle quickly through the top of the vein, stopping as soon as you feel the "give" of piercing
6. Hold needle STEADY and slowly pull syringe up (too quick can cause dizziness)
7. Remove needle quickly after enough blood is obtained
8. Remove belt immediately and apply pressure to your "wound"
9. ???
10. PROFIT

Also, when piercing vein, perpendicular is not the way to go. Go slightly diagonal so there is more room for the needle when you get inside

I actually did everything exept for point 4.
I always wondered why do you have to slap the surface before doing an injection, what is it for?

>> No.5597937

Aftershave usually has some antibacterial, KI is always good to have around the house, but I doubt most people have it.

That's a complex question. But basically a big part is the pressure applied to the vein, which causes it to back up and gain more blood temporarily, along with the spasms of the muscle and other things. But if it works without harm, why question it?

The additional trauma from using a blunt needle will mean the tissue will scar more heavily. This scar tissue will put you at a higher risk of a blood clot later in life.

You're probably going to lose that arm

>> No.5598033

Why should I have higher risks of thrombus for a blunt needle?
